POLAR BEARS IN PAJAMAS
Polar Bears in Pajamas started as a single illustration during my third year at CIA. The assignment it was created for was called "Another Place, Another Time". Upon hearing that title, I knew immediately that I wanted the illustration to evoke the feeling that so many children's books of my childhood had captured. Books like The Tall Book of Make Believe by Jane Werner and Garth Williams, or pretty much anything by Chris Van Allsburg. Once the drawing was completed, my instructors refused to let me leave it at that. From that point, Polar Bears in Pajamas became my main focus, and eventually, my thesis project. Several years after graduating - and many edits later, I published Polar Bears in Pajamas.
