THREE DIMENSIONAL

The first time I cracked open that plastic can of Play-Doh, smelled that sweet aroma and jammed my tiny fingers into that colorful soft lump of clay - I knew that there would be a beautiful relationship between my little hands and those moldable chunks of endless possibility. It was the idea of making the two-dimensional somehow more real - by shaping them into objects that could be held in the hands, turned around, and set down on the table to look back at you.
That captured my interest.

A macabre scenario for these four (five) little buns... They were later assembled for their original intent - a terrarium piece I was creating for a gallery show later that week.

SUPER SCULPEY 
AND POLYMER CLAY CREATIONS
 

My older sister originally introduced me to Sculpey clay while she, herself was attending The Cleveland Institute of Art. She opened the door to a whole new level for me, showing me how to make beads and small ornaments. The process was so simple! Fashion the clay into whatever your mind told you, and bake it! There was no waiting for several days for your crumbling salty dough to dry - the gratification was nearly instant in my 11 year old head. The love affair began...
